Success in any goal takes time. I want you to be successful and this will mean that you must devote enough time and resources to the problem that you have.
Although the problems that have developed in your mouth have taken years to develop, our aim is to make a significant improvement in your dental hygiene. The time taken to look after your teeth will be determined by a number of factors which amongst others include, the number of teeth you have, your dexterity and ability.
I have already mentioned that change takes time and once you get up to speed, you should be able to clean your teeth thoroughly within 5 minutes. This may seem like much more that the 2.5 minutes of brushing recommended by the dental profesion however I will explain.
The dental profession recommends brushing teeth for 2.5 minutes for an average mouth however we now know that brushing your teeth for this period of time is not sufficient for you to have good oral hygiene. The missing component is flossing or another form cleaning inbetweeen the teeth such as interproximal (between teeth) brushes. I have included 2.5 minutes for you to clean inbetween your teeth.
Brushing and flossing has to be done twice a day and hence you will need to set aside up to 10 mins initially to give you plenty of time to perfect your style for your mouth. You will have to do this twice daily so in total you will need 20 mintues total per day. Three weeks from now you should be able to reduce the brushing time to 5 mins twice daily.
