This toothbrush is an advanced version of the previous Oral B Triumph and can be distinguished by the wireless technology Smart Guide.

 

The Smart Guide for all intensive purposes takes information from the toothbrush and displays it on a separate LCD unit which can be placed at a more conveninet viewing point. The previous triumph did not have this technology but had an LCD display unfortunately placed under the palm grip thereby making it more or less unreadable without a definite effort. The Oral B triumph  is in direct competition with the Sonicare Flexcare and hence needs to be a formidable electric brush itself. The Oral B Triumph makes full use of its patented oscillating and rotating technology to provide what it calls a 3D clean. The movement is rapid with 40,000 in and out pulsations  helping clean between teeth and 8800 side to side movements that sweep bacteria away.

Oral B are keen to promote this as a technological advance over all previous toothbrushes and hence it is bristling with options. SmartGuide is a remote and wireless display unit providing real time  feedback to help  optimise brushing habits. The user can see the actual brushing time and a graphical display of the quadrant timer tells you to move onto the next area so you can make your 2 minutes of brushing as efficient as possuble. SmartGuide also contains some useful features such as a pressure alert icon which helps promote a gentler brush to help avoid problems with receding gums over time.

Like Sonicare, Oral B has placed a lot of thought into its toothbrush head design. The Oral B comes with two types of head which they call the advanced flossaction brush head and the dentist inspired ProBright brush head. Although the brush head may be called flossaction, do not be fooled by the name, flossing is still required and the brush does not replicate a flossing action at all. The brush head however is an effective cleaning tool and the bristles do surround each tooth for a great clean.The Probright brush head was specially designed to polish the teeth to make them whiter in a claimed 21 days without the use of bleach or other whitening chemicals.
